富嶽幻影 - 羽衣伝

　静岡テイクズ吹奏楽団の依頼により作曲し、2017年5月に初演をしました。
日本の象徴である富士山にまつわる伝説は数多くあります。そして世界遺産にもなった「三保の松原と富士」の絶景についてのエピソードは、こちらも数ある「羽衣伝説」の中でも特徴的です。天候の条件が合わないと三保の海と富士と羽衣の松を同時に拝むことが出来ない、その気まぐれはすべて天女の仕業とも伝えられ、美しさを求めて人々の命運も左右される不可思議さと、やはり雄大で尊重なる富士への畏敬を、以下のような羽衣伝説を基にした創作的なファンタジーに寄せて描いた作品です。
冒頭の[A](Flute)は天女の主題、[B](Clarinet)は民衆の主題です。降りてきて天女の美しさに民は翻弄されます[D]。おさまりがつかなくなった民に向けて、天女の舞が披露されると、民も力強く、また優雅に舞いはじめます[J]。やがて舞は美しくも高潮を迎える頃に、それまで見えなかった富嶽が民の頭上に姿を表します[Q]。久しぶりに拝む壮大な富嶽の絶景に民の心が清らかなり、そして皆の知らぬ間に天女は羽衣を置いて、天高くに姿を消してゆくのでした。
　演奏にあたっては、[D]からの変拍子は[3+2+2+3]と4拍子の変形です。また[F]は直前のテンポのちょうど半分として捉えてください。[K]は繰り返した2回目はfを中心としたバランスで演奏してください。(Trp.の[K]4小節間は2回目のみの演奏です)。また、伴奏形は4小節を1まとまりとして捉えてください。[P]からのB.Cl.とTrb.3は、全体のダイナミクスにかかわらず、mpの音色で開始します。ただし「聞こえる」ようなバランスを心がけてください。191小節目からは金管のmaestosoと示した3小節(6拍×2)のフレーズが主題となります。木管セクションのソリと対照的な響きが望ましいです。218小節目、3拍目からテンポを戻します。
FUGAKU Fantasy was commissioned by Shizuoka Takes Wind Band and premiered in May 2017.
There are many legends about Mount Fuji, a symbol of Japan known around the world. This piece portrays the scenery of “Miho-no-Matsubara and Fuji” which has been designated a world heritage and is distinctive among many stories surrounding the “Myth of a r obe of feathers”.
It is hard to see the sea, Mount Fuji and the pine forest together unless the weather conditions are perfect. Legends say that these rare occurrences happen at the whim of the celestial maiden. FUGAKU Fantasy portrays those mysteries that control the fate of people who desire beauty and their reverence for the majesty of Mt. Fuji as they are described in the Dagai legend.
The opening section of the piece contrasts the theme of the cel estial maiden, played by the flutes, with the theme of the peopl e, represented in the clarinets. These melodies weave together, climax ing in a section representing the awe inspired in the people wh en the maiden comes down to earth to be among them. The maiden dances for the people, who are further excited and begin to dance with her.
When the dancing reaches a climax, Mt. Fuji suddenly appears ab ove people. The final section of the piece portrays the people slowly regaining their composure after seeing the magnificent view Mr. Fuji while the celestial maiden slips into a robe before ascend ing back into the heavens
This piece uses irregular time signature and subdivision of beats. Care must be taken to ensure the accent patterns are correct and that a proper balance in maintained across the band. Generally, the music is phrased in four measure units; ensuring this pattern is clearly played will guarantee a rewarding performance.
