春の呼ぶ声を聞く テナートロンボーン デュオ版

　かつて私が教壇に立っていた頃、和声の授業に在籍していた篠崎卓美氏(現・読売日本交響楽団バストロンボーン奏者)から、震災直後の4月、彼の郷里である福島県いわき市を支援するために、同郷のバストロンボーン奏者黒金寛行氏(NHK交響楽団バストロンボーン奏者)と共にチャリティーコンサートを開催するとの知らせを受けました。そのコンサートのための作曲を提案したことがきっかけとなり、5月・6月とコンサートのたびに一曲ずつ書き進め、7月のコンサートには3曲からなる組曲として、“2本のバストロンボーンとピアノのための「春の呼ぶ声を聞く」”ができ上がりました。そしてこのたび、願いが叶いテナーデュオ版の出版の運びとなりましたことを大変嬉しく思います。このテノールデュオ版は、被災地の子供たちにご自分の大切な楽器を贈り、たびたび被災地を訪れ被災地支援の活動を継続している吉川武典氏のセカンドアルバム「トロンボネッタ」に2014年7月に収録されました(オクタビアレコードより同年10月リリース)。

　以下に、作曲のもととなったイメージを記します。

1.　夜明け
震災が起こる20年以上も前、三陸・宮古の海へ訪れた時のこと。まだ夜が明けきらない頃、海岸を歩く。徐々に空が白み始め、日の出とともにその色は薄紫から次第に赤みを帯び、空全体が一瞬急に明るくなったかと思うと真っ赤な太陽が水平線に現れ空の色も一瞬にして明るい朝の青空へと変化した。今日も昨日と変わらぬ一日を約束してくれるような、そんな希望に満ちた夜明けだった。

2.　風
海近く、波打ち際に立っていると聞こえてくる波の音、風の声。吹き寄せる風に吹かれていると様々な記憶が蘇る。冬の日に冷たく強く吹き荒れる風も、いつまでも続くことはない。やがて春が近づき、暖かくやさしい風で心を癒してくれる。

3.　桜 三春滝桜に寄せて
日本の三大桜としても名高い福島県三春の滝桜。東日本大震災直後の2011年4月に満開の花を咲かせた滝桜が新聞の一面を飾った。推定樹齢千年ともいわれているその桜は、約25メートルにもわたって枝を広げ、大きく美しい薄紅色の花を咲かせていた。震災の激しい揺れに見舞われてもなお、変わらず花を咲かせたその姿には、きっと多くの人々が励まされたに違いない。

　震災から三年半が過ぎ去った今、復興への歩みは甚だ遅く、未だにその「声」は聞こえぬままです。時間の経過とともに、震災の記憶が徐々に風化しつつある、そんな気がしてなりません。ふるさとでの穏やかな暮らしを一瞬にして奪われてしまった多くの方々のことを思うと、震災直後は無力感に苛まれたものでした。そんな自分にできることは微々たるものですが、「震災のことを忘れない」でいるために、音楽の力を信じ、自分にできることを続けたいと思っています。尊い多くの命が失われてしまったこと、そして今なお不自由な生活を強いられている多くの方々のことを忘れずに、私たちはあたりまえではない日常を、一日一日大切に生きていかなければならないと思うのです。(高嶋圭子)

高嶋圭子(Keiko Takashima)

1962年、香川県高松市生まれ。広島市出身。

4歳からピアノを始め、中学高校時代では部活動で合唱に熱中。高校二年より和声学・作曲理論を学び始め1982年東京藝術大学音楽学部作曲科へ。卒業後の1987年、パリ・トロンボーン四重奏団初来日の際にアンコールピースとして「夕やけこやけ」「わらべうた」を提供して以来、トロンボーンに関わる作品が多い。

トロンボーン四重奏のための「パスピエ」「メモリーズ」「スクエアダンス」「古都三景」「出逢いは、はじまり」「ふるさとのうた」「四季の詩」「ハナミズキの祈り」「砂の丘を越えて」など、またトロンボーンとピアノのための作品として、ミシェル・ベッケ氏のソロアルバムにも収録されている「幻想五木の子守唄」をはじめ、ソナタ「風花賛礼」「夜の静寂に」「春の呼ぶ声を聞く」などがある。合唱曲としては、落語を主題にした「時そば」（混声合唱）、女声合唱組曲「京都の恋（詩：黛まどか）」「花だより（詩：高橋うらら）」など。ピアノ曲としては「ピアノ発表会物語」がピティナ・ミュッセ（インターネット上の楽譜配信サービス）にて好評配信中。

1998年に広島で行われた国民体育大会では、開会式・閉会式のファンファーレを作曲。一般社団法人全日本ピアノ指導者協会正会員。

HEAR THE SPRING CALLING FOR 2 TROMBONE AND PIANO

This work was written in 2011 in the hope of earlier reconstruction of the affected areas which suffered extensive damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake that year. I yearned the spring, in the true sense of the word, a season which heralds the reconstruction of the affected areas and calls everyone to come and see them for themselves.

In April that year, just after the huge disaster, I was contacted by Mr. Takumi Shinozaki (the current bass trombonist at Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra), who used to be enrolled in my harmony class in college. He informed me he would hold charity concerts in his hometown, Iwaki, Fukushima, to support the city, together with Mr. Hiroyuki Kurogane (the bass trombonist at NHK Symphony Orchestra), who was also born there. I made an offer to write music for them on the spot, and wrote two successive pieces before their concert in May and June. Before the July concert, at last, the threefold suite was completed, which was titled HEAR THE SPRING CALLING for two bass trombones and piano. I am glad to grant my wish to publish the tenor trombone duo version of the suite, and wish to take this occasion to express my deepest gratitude to Academia Music Inc., for providing such an opportunity. This new version was recorded by Mr. Takenori Yoshikawa in July 2014, and is included into his second CD album TROMBONETTA (Ottavia Records, October 2014). He has also given his precious instruments to children in the affected areas and still continues to visit many times to give support there.

1. Dawn:
More than twenty years before the earthquake occurred, I visited Miyako on the Sanriku Coast. Walking along the seaboard at dawn, I saw the sky gradually become brighter and its colors turned from light purple to red. Then the sun appeared over horizon, and the entire sky suddenly became bright blue in the morning. I felt it was a dawn filled with hope which promised that today would be a normal day, the same as the day before.

2. Sea Breeze: Standing on the seashore comes the sound of waves and the voice of the wind. Amid the breeze, one remembers various memories. Even wind sweeping strongly on a cold winter day does not continue forever. Spring is approaching soon, its warm gentle breeze heals ones mind.

3. Sakura: Ode for Miharu TakizakuraMiharu Takizakura, literally waterfall sakura of Miharu, located in Fukushima, is known as one of the three major cherry tree varieties of Japan. In April 2011, immediately after the disaster, a large picture of the Takizakura in its full bloom landed on the front page of a newspaper. The tree, estimated around 1,000 years old, extends its branches over some 25 meters high and blooms big beautiful pale pink blossoms. Many people must have been encouraged by the tree in its full bloom, in spite of being hit by the violent shaking.

Although three and a half years have passed since the earthquake disaster, progress for reconstruction remains still slow and the "calling" has never been heard yet. I somewhat feel that memories of the disaster would be gradually weathered over time. After the disaster, I could not help but feel powerless whenever I think of a number of people whose peaceful lives at home were suddenly deprived. In spite of my poor ability, I would like to believe in the power of music and continue what I can do so as "to keep the disaster in our minds." Without forgetting that many lives were lost and that many others are forced to live a more restricted life, I believe that we have to live our precious daily life, which does not always come again.
