ハニカム・リズミック・スタイル（4 or 6重奏）

曲を構成する要素として「6」という数字がキーワード、例えば、6つのセクションからなり、6小節フレーズ、6拍子、その約数である2や3に関する要素も素材とし、編成は、最大6パートからなる六重奏といった具合に。

一方で、6パートの内、2つの鍵盤打楽器パートはオプションパートとして位置付け、これらが省略された「打楽器4重奏」としても演奏ができる構造をとります。ピッチは伴わないリズムだけだが、どこかしら旋律をイメージしたものが冒頭に登場するテーマ。このテーマが、続く2拍子や3拍子で、変奏されていきます。

ちなみに、3拍子のゆったりとしたセクションで金属系鍵盤楽器によって奏されるフレーズは、Ukrainian Dorian Scale（ウクライナのドリアン音階）に基づいたものとして響くことでしょう。もちろんこの同時代に起こっている大きな出来事を仄めかしておきたかったのです。（侘美秀俊）

北海道帯広市生まれ。武蔵野音楽大学卒業。作曲楽曲の提供は、陸上自衛隊音楽隊の委嘱作品、国民体育大会や音楽ホールのためのファンファーレ、劇場上映映画やTVドラマのオリジナルサウンドトラックから、演劇舞台のための音楽、シンフォニックコンサートのオーケストラアレンジ、こどものためのオペレッタまで多岐にわたる。

HONEYCOMB RHYTHMIC STYLE FOR PERCUSSION QUARTET (SEXTET)：Composer: Hidetoshi TAKUMI

"Honeycomb" is a reference to the hexagonal structure of honeycombs.

The number "6" is a recurring motif in the elements that make up the piece: a sextet consisting of six sections, sixbar phrases, a sixbeat rhythm, and elements that relate to the divisors of two and three. It is also written for up to six different parts.

At the same time, two of the six parts are optional percussion parts, and the piece can be performed as a percussion quartet without these optional parts. The theme appears in the opening of the piece, which features a rhythm without any pitch that is somehow reminiscent of a melody. The theme then undergoes variations in the following twobeat and threebeat sections.

Incidentally, the phrases played by the metallic keyboard instrument in the slow threebeat section are written based on the Ukrainian Dorian scale, a subtle reference to the major events that are currently taking place around us.
