「白鳥」だけがやたら“異質”なのは、友人であり、この曲の委嘱者であるチェリストの演奏を想定していたからだと思います。
どこまでも美しいこの曲の編曲について、3点付記させてください。
・有名な主題の始まり、現行はアルト・サックスの指定としていますが、他の楽器でも構いません。
　おおよそ想定できそうな楽器について、スコア上に記しています。
・途中で主題を受けつぐトランペットは、可能であればフリューゲルホルンの使用をお勧めいたします。
・その後、頂点に向けてカノンとしてエコーさせています。
他、全体的にもやや比較的幅の広いスコアとしています。

括弧で括られた小音符については、楽器名が付せられている箇所は不在の代替として、そうでない箇所はバンド全体の響きを考慮して選択なさってください。（井澗昌樹）

大阪教育大学教養学科芸術専攻音楽コース卒業。同大学大学院芸術文化専攻修了。作曲を澤田博、北川文雄の両氏に師事。

主な作品に、バリトン独唱と管弦楽のためのカンタータ「倭建命 流離譚」、トランペット八重奏曲「四季の奏鳴」など。吹奏楽作品に、「火の断章」（2008年度全日本吹奏楽コンクール課題曲）、「Bye Bye Violet」、「愛の祭壇」など。

This work, which is steeped in humor and satire, was probably written in a short period of time as the mood struck him. With the exception of the obviously different “Le Cygne,” SaintSaens did not allow the entire suite to be published, and the complete work was not published until after the composer’s death. (This is not uncommon in music history; for example, F. Chopin’s “FantaisieImpromptu” was also not published by the composer.)

The following five excerpts from the 14 pieces are included in this score.

I think the reason why only “Le Cygne” is so “different” is because it was intended to be performed by his friend, the cellist who commissioned this piece.

I would like to add three points about the arrangement of this infinitely beautiful piece.

･The beginning of the famous theme is currently designated for alto saxophone, but other instruments may be used. I have noted on the score the instruments that can be expected to play it.

･The trumpet that takes over the theme in the middle of the piece is recommended to use a flugelhorn, if possible.

･And then echoes it as a canon toward the top.

The score is also relatively wide throughout.

For the small notes in parentheses, where the instrument name is given, please use it as a substitute for the absence of the instrument; otherwise, please select it in consideration of the overall sound of the band.
