交響曲第5番 変ロ長調 作品100 より 第2楽章

プロコフィエフの交響曲第5番は、1944年夏に書き上げられた彼の最高傑作の一つ。作曲家は「自由で幸せな人間への賛歌」と呼びましたが、その響きには冷徹なアイロニーが潜んでいます。

第2楽章「アレグロ・マルカート」は、プロコフィエフの代名詞であるモーター・リズム（機械的運動性）が炸裂する楽章。執拗なリズムが刻む鋼鉄の質感、中間部の極端な音域を使った木管楽器のアイロニー（皮肉）、終盤の圧倒的な音響構成が特徴です。
本編曲は「もしプロコフィエフが現代の吹奏楽を知っていたら」というコンセプトをベースに、原曲の構造を忠実に守りつつ、和声の補強と打楽器の拡張を施しました。弦楽器のモーター・リズムは木管・金管・ティンパニとあらゆる形で受け継ぎ、吹奏楽ならではの重層的な響きを追求しています。
演奏にあたっては、冷徹さの中の狂気すれすれの緊張感と、突き放したような皮肉の二面性を表現してください。

NTT西日本中国吹奏楽クラブと編曲者本人の指揮によって、2026年２月に初演いたしました。
その際、ピッコロ・トランペットも用いましたが、使用は任意で良いと思います。

また、楽譜に記載されている練習番号はオーケストラ・スコア（全音楽譜出版社/ISBN:4118926652）に準拠しています。

井澗昌樹(Masaki Itani)

大阪教育大学教養学科芸術専攻音楽コース卒業。同大学大学院芸術文化専攻修了。作曲を澤田博、北川文雄の両氏に師事。

主な作品に、バリトン独唱と管弦楽のためのカンタータ「倭建命 流離譚」、トランペット八重奏曲「四季の奏鳴」など。吹奏楽作品に、「火の断章」（2008年度全日本吹奏楽コンクール課題曲）、「Bye Bye Violet」、「愛の祭壇」など。

Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 in Bflat major, Op. 100, composed in the summer of 1944, was hailed as a "hymn to the greatness of the human spirit."

The second movement (Allegro marcato) is a masterpiece of Prokofiev’s signature "motoric rhythm" and biting irony. While Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7 "Leningrad" offered a more direct expression of wartime patriotism, Prokofiev’s Fifth―especially this scherzo―hides a complex layering of sharp wit and mechanical obsession. The relentless drive, the percussive use of the piano, and the eventual spiraling into a chaotic frenzy showcase Prokofiev’s unique intellectual resistance during a time of global upheaval.

This wind orchestra edition was reconstructed by Masaki Itani under the creative premise: "How would Prokofiev have scored this if he were familiar with the capabilities of the modern wind ensemble?"

While strictly respecting the original structure, this arrangement enhances the harmonic edges and expands the percussion section―including the addition of the flexatone―to fully realize the "madness" and "vivid colors" inherent in the score. This performance marks the World Premiere of this definitive wind edition.
